FOX Picks Up Pilot From ‘Veronica Mars’ Creator

Rob Thomas isn’t wasting any time now that the ‘Veronica Mars’ movie is in post-production. He and actor-writer Graham Norris have teamed together on a new drama project inspired by the Victor Hugo novel Les Miserables.

Thanks to a report at Deadline, we know that the project comes from Warner Bros TV and Rob Thomas Prods and written by Norris, taking a contemporary look at the classic story, this time with a primetime soap about “a brilliant lawyer running a legal exoneration program who fights to evade the consequences of his own unjust conviction many years before”. A further description of the show explains that the lawyer in question “must navigate high society, continue his mission of saving innocent people, and manage his tumultuous family and romantic life, all while staying one step ahead of a ruthless U.S. Attorney who refuses to let the ghosts of the past die”.
Thomas will serve as executive producer along with his collaborators Danielle Stokdyk and Dan Etheridge, who worked with him on ‘Veronica Mars’.
Since this is just a pilot commitment by FOX there is no confirmation of whether the project will be picked up or not.
